The ticket format you choose determines how your venue works and how many questions you field afterwards. These articles put the options side by side: numbered seats on a floor plan, general admission, time slots with a capacity per block, and combinations such as a weekend pass alongside single nights.

The choice is less a matter of taste than it looks. A theatre with numbered rows needs seated tickets; a museum open all day needs time slots; a marquee with one continuous evening needs neither. Choose wrong and you find out at the door.
