About this topic

Payment is the last screen for your visitor and the first worry for you. These articles cover the payment side of ticketing: which methods your audience expects, what a transaction really costs, and how and when the money reaches you.

In the Netherlands iDEAL is still the norm, and from 2026 that standard shifts towards Wero. For Belgian visitors, Bancontact is what iDEAL is here. Card and Apple Pay stop being optional the moment part of your audience comes from abroad.

When comparing systems, look at who carries the payment costs. Some platforms charge you a rate and add transaction costs on top; others put the whole amount on your visitor as a service fee. You only see that difference in your settlement, or in the number of people who drop out on the final screen.
